Dr. David Almeida, MD, is a renowned ophthalmologist who has made significant contributions to the field of ophthalmology. 

David RP Almeida, MD MBA PhD, is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon who has made significant contributions to the field of Ophthalmology. He completed an:

• Honors Bachelor of Science (University of Toronto, Canada)
• PhD in Pharmaceutical Drug Research (University of Szeged, Hungary)
• MBA in healthcare management (The George Washington University, USA)
• Medical school (Queen’s University, Canada),
• Ophthalmology residency (Queen’s University, Canada)
• Vitreoretinal disease and surgery fellowship (University of Iowa, USA), where he further honed his skills and gained expertise in treating complex ocular conditions.

Dr. Almeida is the founder and CEO of Erie Retina Research. Dr. Almeida has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and over 150 national and international conference and keynote presentations. With his extensive knowledge, clinical expertise, and commitment to patient care, Dr. Almeida has become a respected figure in the ophthalmic community.

Throughout his career, Dr. Almeida has been recognized for his exceptional clinical skills and dedication to advancing the field of ophthalmology. He has been involved in numerous research projects and has published extensively in reputable medical journals, contributing to the scientific understanding of various ophthalmic conditions and their management.

Dr. Almeida is known for his compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. He is deeply committed to providing the highest level of medical care to his patients, using the latest diagnostic techniques and treatment modalities to achieve the best possible outcomes. 

Beyond his clinical, surgical, and research practices, Dr. Almeida has received numerous awards and accolades for his outstanding contributions to the field of ophthalmology. Dr Almeida lives in Erie, PA where he enjoys spending time with his family, running ultra marathons, travel and of course – many research projects.
