Recruitment
Patients are recruited through local advertising (social media, flyers, radio and local transit).
Patients are also sent our way from referring optometrists through the use of our proprietary Physician Referral software.
Patients love being part of our trials, thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, professional conduct, ease of participation, access to no-cost vision care and of course, being compensated for time and travel.
Clinical
Patient health is our number one priority and we bring a sense of compassion to all clinics. State of the art technology, well-trained imaging staff and ophthalmologists and optometrists are on site along with research coordinators and medical assistants.
Knowledge
Translation
Our knowledge translation team is well equipped to handle all incoming data from start to finish. Complete with data analysts, a medical transcriptionist, and under the guidance of Dr. Almeida, all data is handled with precision and care.
Community & Diversity
Erie Retina Research strives to ensure that the patients in our trials reflect the people in our community. To that end, we are out and about with Mobile Retina Screening clinic! Watch for us and stop by to say hello. We are are many local and rural events connecting with patients. We also fund the Low Vision Clinic at the Sight Center of NWPA, the science lab at Erie Day School, and a local weather tower lighthouse!
